CMS requires ASCs to have "a licensed health care professional qualified through training in infection control and designated to direct the ASC's infection control program." What CMS doesn’t tell you is how to pick the right person for the job and define their responsibilities. This session will highlight key components of an ASC infection prevention (IP) program that are the responsibility of the infection preventionist.
